MAKE YOUR BRAIN HAPPY

MAKE YOUR BRAIN HAPPY

MAKING YOUR BRAIN HAPPY SHOULD BE A NEW YEARS RESOLUTION/MANTRA

Having a healthy mind is key to good overall health and wellbeing. It affects the way we think, feel and act - it influences how we handle stress, make choices and reason. A healthy mind is pivotal. How you maintain and look after your it could be your key to happiness.

Happiness has long been recognised as a critical part of health and well-being.

Happiness is an emotional state characterised by feelings of joy, contentment, fulfilment, positive emotions and life satisfaction.

Being able to control your thoughts to see a positive side of a situation may not seem easy at first. Through practise and ritual you may start seeing changes quicker than you think.

Having a daily routine that incorporates healthy habits can really help the mind and body. Being able to overcome mental pressures should be on everybody's to do list. Whatever time you can afford to give yourself - your mind, body and soul will be grateful for the attention received.

Focusing on your health and wellbeing can benefit you in the long run. Tackling life head on should hopefully be slightly less stressful [we've all had enough, less face it!]

So, What can be done?

Try incorporating healthy habits such as these into your routine:

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT

According to researchers, healthy eating - particularly whole grains, fruit, vegetables and good sources of protein can play a role in healthy brain function. A healthy eating pattern can help with better stress management, improved sleep quality and better mental wellbeing.

MEDITATION

Mindful techniques such as meditation, yoga or breathing exercises can help with overcoming unwanted feelings. Being aware of overwhelming thoughts can lead to better judgement and help manage stress and anxiety whilst building mental resilience.

TIP: Practise breathing in slowly through the nose and exhaling all the way through to the stomach. Deep abdominal breathing helps reduce stress, control emotions, increase attention, and improve overall wellbeing.

ENJOY YOURSELF

No matter how busy or stressed out you are - it's imperative to find time to do something you enjoy. This could be anything from listening to your favourite MF DOOM album [Madvillainy, Mm..Food], cooking your favourite meal, being creative - writing tales, producing music or even working out!

EXERCISE

Not only is it good for your muscles and bones, it can keep your brain healthy, too. Physical activity can improve your cognitive health—helping you think, learn, problem-solve and enjoy an emotional balance. It can improve memory and reduce anxiety or depression.

That feeling you get after a great work out or run? - usually described as "runners high"-  is scientifically described as “pure happiness, elation, a feeling of unity with one’s self or nature, endless peacefulness, inner harmony, boundless energy, and a reduction in pain sensation.”

DID YOU KNOW?

Taking any amount of time to do something without distractions could drastically help your mood. Even a 5 minute walk can have beneficial effects for physical and mental health by improving mood and emotional wellbeing. In fact, throughout history, some of our greatest artists and thinkers saw walking as their single greatest source of inspiration and relaxation.

AND MOST IMPORTANT OF THEM ALL... CBD!

Known for its incredible calming ability and pain relief, CANNABIDIOL or CBD for short, could be the most important accessory to have in your locker. Its ability to reduce anxiety and depression, as well as the role it plays in suppressing stress and inflammation could be the missing piece of the puzzle you are looking for. While stress is normal, being in a constant state of stress can have a serious impact on your health. Chronic stress puts your body in a never-ending state of fight or flight. This can impact your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

CBD can be very effective in improving cognitive processes like attention, working memory, and executive functions, in addition, studies have found CBD has neuroprotective properties that could help protect the brain from damage and harm from diseases like dementia, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s.

DID YOU KNOW?

Taking CBD everyday can help maintain a healthy Endocannabinoid System. Research indicates that a healthy system can lead to improved wellness.

The best way to introduce CBD into your daily routine is to go low and slow. This means starting with a low dosage and gradually increasing the amount until you find your sweet spot. One of the mistakes that people first make when trying CBD for the first time, is rushing into it and taking too high of a dose.

Many people assume that taking a large amount will give them the effects that they want sooner and faster.

GO SLOW AND FIND YOUR SWEET SPOT.

If you didn't have the motivation before, hopefully you may feel inspired!
